3. Football Philosophy
- To display high standards of behaviour and respect towards officials, team mates and other players
- To respect the laws of the game
- To be inclusive and encouraging to all players, maximising game time opportunities
- To play from the back, building through the thirds encouraging ball retention
- Ball retention/possession should be encouraged throughout - Goalkeeper and defenders long ball distribution should be discouraged, especially for age groups below u14
- Creative play should be encouraged and players should be praised for showing attacking and progrfessive instinct in attacking areas
- Players will not have set positions until they reach U12 levels encouraging rotation to aid development
- Players of all abilities will be encouraged to challenge themselves, progressing through the age groups and senior teams enabling them to achieve the most from the game that they wish whilst enjoying a level of competition appropriate for their rate and state of development and maturity.
